The difference is. KDE 3.4.x won't be released anymore, so if we need 
adjustments to get it compiling under your setup (which seems to be the 
case), then those will only be done with KDE 3.5.x. 

Also, KDE 3.5.x was already packaged for AIX, and there are patches available. 
I'll look it up if you're interested.
