hiya ryan, hiya henrique,

thanks for the replies.

okay. superkaramba i grok. i love. it works. it's superb. it's
supported. it has themes - hundreds of them - albeit most of them
along the same sort of line (because of the limitations of SK) bar
a few, like tuxbar / kroller.

http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=5931 (original kroller)
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=31081 (enhanced kroller)

plasma? sounds excellent, needs work, needs work to port things like
kroller over to an API that might not exist :)

i'd _love_ to do things like a wheel-of-fortune file manager
and program manager, where you use the scroll wheel or drag-move
to spin it round to the files or programs that you want.

and i _certainly_ wouldn't do that kind of shit in c++ - it's just far
too much hassle and time-consuming for very little extra gain, when
things like SK exist.

so.

basically, henrique, what i'm saying is, you've nearly persuaded
me to give plasma a try.

SK when i first encountered it i nearly went into shock: using _python_
to do GUI work? you gotta be _kidding_ - then of course i discovered
that the hard work is actually done in c++ - and you "tell" stuff what
to do through python. this is _such_ an amazing combination.

so, if there's the possibility of it existing in plasma, count me in.

l.
