Moc up look very pretty, But compare it to windows vista mock up.
http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/presskits/windowsvista/images/image001_low.jpg
you will see the bottom green panel showing the information about teh
document selected.
there are a lot of issues to look at there:
1) see that how much information is linked to single file of rather a
'content'. with such integration of information Desktop environment is able
to achieve several things at once.
 2) It lets user to use and see the content the way he wishes to see it. so
no longer it is necessary for the beginer to leran 'folders are like
drawers'. rather he rates the content and searches for 5 star rated content
on his computer or tags (Microsoft call it keywords) files whereever they
are as 'Job Search' and again he gets all the content he wants where ever in
seconds
 3) it lets desktop to integrate software with information browser, so there
is this new concept of search and use the content. this gives user and
developer advantage like never before.
 Advantages to developer:
for once developer does not have to code all this information management as
seperate software. consider media player eg. now no need to provide 5-star
rating storage mechanism seperately use system api, get the rating and use
it and guess what email client needs to do if mails are stored as starred
content. use the very same api and just use it !
 4) this vast information provides desktop environmet a chance to integrate
with the future. The evolving web technologies for instance. XML gives
developer vast range of choices to choose data format and if desktop
supports it to the web apps could become as feature rich and effecient as
full fleged programs.
 --------------------------------------------------------
for now this is all i can see, but lot of things i think of can become more
clear if there is more clear documentation / explanation of what KDE 4
architecture is planned to be. right now there is not very precise
description available i guess.
lastly, i am am not exactly a experienced technical programmer, so if any
one could provide me with how to translate this stuff in terms of KDE code
plans or correct/add to it I would be great
 thanks
sachin.
