Hi!

The same problem appears on Fedora Core 4.
FC4 developers use the following patch against the problem for arts-1.4.2:

It also fixes the problem for the arts-1.4.90 compiled under FC4.

Probably the same patch can solve the problem in Fedora Core 3.
