seems as if this specific function (i meant blend(QImage,QImage,QImage)) is 
endian safe (but there maybe a bug in the implementation - though it doesn't 
look like this), but it also uses mmx and sse and
1. i don't know if any ppc supports this
2. i can't say if that code is endian safe, as i have no idea about the 
specific instructions - sorry
