Hello list,

when trying to compile kdesdk from SVN i get this when i type "./configure":

Dictionary plugin "Translation Database" for KBabel will not be built! Please
install Berkeley Database IV. See http://www.sleepycat.com for more
information.)

The relevant section in config.log looks like this:

conftest.c: In function `main':
conftest.c:57: warning: 'db' might be used uninitialized in this function
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.1/../../../libdb.so: undefined reference to
`pthread_condattr_setpshared'
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.1/../../../libdb.so: undefined reference to
`pthread_mutexattr_destroy'
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.1/../../../libdb.so: undefined reference to
`pthread_mutexattr_setpshared'
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.1/../../../libdb.so: undefined reference to
`pthread_mutexattr_init'
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.1/../../../libdb.so: undefined reference to
`pthread_mutex_trylock'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

When i use "LDFLAGS=-lpthread ./configure" it works and compiles as expected.

This has worked for me without any quirks with KDE 3.4.x, but since a few
weeks (or longer?) configure seems to be broken wrt pthread.

Can anyone with more knowledge about this autoconf-stuff have a look at it? I
don't know how to fix it or if it is KDEs problem at all.

Thanks,
Thomas Reitelbach
