How did you change the linkeroptions (i.e. in the Makefile or in 
Makefile.am/.in)?
If you operate on the KDE framework (admin dir), make sure you've sth. like 
this in your Makefile.am
...
myProject_LDADD = $(LIB_KDEUI)
...
where myProject is the name of your Project ;)
