Hello, I am running Gentoo Linux 2005.0 and am trying to compile KDE 3.4 
from source with gcc-3.3.5. However, when compiling aRTs there is an 
error that I have googled and not found a solution to. Here is the 
output of gcc:

collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [libmcop.la] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/jdjennin/Source/arts-1.4.0/mcop'
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/jdjennin/Source/arts-1.4.0/mcop'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jdjennin/Source/arts-1.4.0'
make: *** [all] Error 2

The solutions I have tried are compiling with -fPIC and 'export 
LDFLAGS=-fPIC'. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
