No, FTP only allows one transfer at a time. Same for HTTP: you need more 
than one connection to retrieve files simultaneously. In fact, I don't 
know any protocol that allows for one control connection and multiple 
transfers, simultaneously.

But I thought KIO would limit the number of ioslaves open for the same 
hostname.
