Not only Stefan is interested in an answer on this question.

Under Gnome on FC3, a dialog pops up with a question what to do when plugging
in a camera (like copying to harddisk)
With KDE, the camera is automatically mounted on /media/usbcamera. Further
there is no user notification or something.

For me it's not such an issue, but the average user might need such a
popup-dialog to be able to do the thing he/she wants to do. The popupdialog
is much more user friendlier.

Edwin
