My application (KTTSD) currently has a "voices" file that contains information
about available voices for speech synthesis. This is an INI-style file.
Here is a sample portion of the file:

[kal_diphone]
Name=Kal
Language=en_US
Gender=male
Preload=false
VolumeAdjustable=true
RateAdjustable=true
PitchAdjustable=true
Comment=American Male
Comment[es]=Americano masculino

I would like for translators to add additional Comment[xx]= lines to this
file. How do I go about making that happen?

I've done some digging, but don't have a complete answer. Based on this
message

http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-devel&m=104984551618679&w=2

it appears I need to write a script to extract the Comment= lines from the
voices file and place in rc.cpp. I would do this in "messages:" section of
Makefile.am. But how do I get the translated messages injected back into the
voices file? Scripty does this with .desktop files, but apparently only
for .desktop files?

Thanks
