just a little clearification....

can I put a timer processing in a thread ?
like whole signl/slot of the timer should reside
inside a thread....(that is other then main applicatin
thread )

Or QT-Kde doesn't offer this ?

Yes, that's how it's supposed to work.

Make your slot repost the data to another function
using a read-write 
lock, 
wait condition or semaphore. Qt's signals can't do
that.

As I said, you have to notify the auxiliary thread
yourself.
