On that, we agree. I'm just not sure why. I really want to thank you for 
trying to help.

I recompiled both arts and kdelibs. On the configure command, I used the flag 
- --prefix=/usr

it references KDEDIR. Note, that I did specify --prefix=/usr on the configure 
command


Again, thanks for any and all help. I've worked in development for over 30 
years from mainfram all the way down to micros (which are more powerful than 
the mainframes I started on <g>). I need to get these changes into the main 
directories, but they're not going. I do appreciate those of you who are 
willing to instruct. I promise I'm a fast learner. A bit dense about the 
obvious at times, but I'm a fast learner.
