Hello,

Is it technically possible to tell applications like the gimp, where you have
only one instance but multiple windows, from applications like konqueror,
where there are many instances with a single window?

Currently, taskbar grouping makes no distinction between the two: it groups
all konqueror windows together, and all gimp windows together.

Is it possible to detect the difference?

If so, we could:

1. change the taskbar so that it groups one kind of app, but not the other;

2. automatically allocate a virtual desktop for apps like gimp.

Thanks for elucidations.
