...or when making a simple program about maps transforms in to a politics
hell.

I would like some advice in a problem i have here.

This morning i got a mail from a user of KGeography telling me i should rename
F.Y.R. Macedonia to Macedonia or Republic of Macedonia because that is what
standards said the country name was.

I have looked and all i have found is

ISO ->
http://www.iso.org/iso/en/prods-services/iso3166ma/02iso-3166-code-lists/list-en1.html
Says MACEDONIA, THE FORMER YUGOSLAV REPUBLIC OF

United Nations -> http://www.un.org/Overview/unmember.html
Says The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

CIA FactBook -> http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/mk.html
Says Macedonia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of

So seems that the name is F.Y.R. Macedonia after all, i have pointed that to
him and he has answered.

 - Why do you want to offend Macedonian people?
	I really don't want to offend anybody
 - I'm going to release a new version of KGeography with F.Y.R. Macedonia
renamed to Macedonia
	I would not like a fork
 - I am busy writing applications that would give the people services, not
offence
	Cool i like when i do free work and all i get is hate :(

So, what would you do?

Also what is the name KDE uses for that country?

P.S: I would be extremely interested in a Macedonian people opinion, please
don't be so extremist as the user that has mailed me and try to explain why i
should change or why not.

Albert
