It turns out QSemaphores suffer from the same problem as QMutexs, but that's a 
moot point:  You simply can't use signals and slots in order to read in your 
data.  KProcess can't emit it's readyReadStdout() signal until your 
readInfo() function returns (because of the way the Qt event loop works), 
which will be too late.

So it looks like you'll have to use KTar after all. :-(
