I'm running KDE 3.2.2 compiled with more or less the same flags with no layout 
problems. I don't use -mfancy_math-387 and -falign-functions, but the first 
seems irrelevant here and the second harmless, unless Konq. is using floating 
point in it's layout engine (which it might).

But trying to compile with less optimization is always a good idea when 
"too-weird-to-be-true" situations arise. Another common source is 
multiple/incorrect libraries adn hardware fault. Compiling with -Os might 
even give a performance boost.
