I tried to reverting the patch which attached to the bug report, and compiled 
KFontInst on Linux with --as-needed, but it didn't fail. However there are no 
static libraries involved, so no surprise here.

But if the above bug description is valid, then KBugBuster should not work on 
Irix. Can someone check?
