I found something out:

KPopupMenu a;
a.             //does not work
a.<ctrl+space> //DOES work

With the automake manager, I added a cpp file to my old project (where code 
completion did not work). When editing it, cc (without ctrl+space)worked, but 
after restarting KDevelop (or some other action), it ceased to.
Did I do something wrong or is this a bug ??
