Hello, James :)
I FINALLY understand what a version of GLibc that appears to only be in Fedora
Core 2, Test Release 3 would have to do with Fedora Core 1, which appears to be
running the current released version. I have been reading the Fedora
discussions on kde-devel lately, so I am quite aware of the GLibc issues, but I
had no idea that they had probably put something from the new version into the
old one.
I'm going to download GLibc 2.3.2 and try that, to see what happens. One
Important question, though. Because of the apparent RedHat/Fedora distinctives
in "GLibc 2.3.2" as it ships with Fedora Core 1, do you think I might
permanently break something by trying this? I don't mind reinstalling if I
have to, so that is an option, but I'd like to know, if possible, if there is
anything suicidal(?) about installing GLibc from an official tarball as opposed
to the RedHat distinctive version.

Anyway, thanks again for your help. It does seem strange though, that
everything worked fine up to a few days ago :(

Have a Great Day :)
