Hi folks,

I like to open a gzip compressed tar archive from within a kde application.
I thought about using KArchive() and KTar(). But if I understood the classes
right, I have to first copy the extracted file to harddisk by using
KArchiveDirectory::copyTo() and open this extracted file with QFile(). I
thought it must be possible to directly access the content of a file in an
archive over a QIODevice or maybe getting the content of a file as
QString()? Is it really impossible or how would you do this?

Sebastian
