I'm using the nvidia drivers. And on my box (2.4GHz P4) it's painfully slow 
when selecting large areas. Also, the XRenderColor value you specify in 
kstyle.diff is wrong - since XRender seems to use pre-alpha-multiplied 
colours, you want to multiply the red, green and blue values by 0x70 not by 
255. That way it doesn't make your icons disappear.
