The above approach is good if you have an application
which handles say one or two mimetypes. But consider
an application such as kplayer or openoffice or
noautun. they handle multiple mime types . It will be
not at all easy to track down 6-7 mimetypes of an
application and for each one change the default. It is
a very easy option to add but i think some might
perceive it as overconfigurability.
