Hi
In kmix, if there are 2 sound cards in a system, and advanced is checked
to get a bottom panel with led buttons then resizing the window
vertically does not cause the sliders in the upper panel to grow. The
led panel grows.
If there is only one sound card, then the slider panel grows with
vertical resizing but the button panel has a fixed height. I think this
is the desired behaviour.
On my system I have a built-in sound chip and also a Soundblaster
Audigy2 Platinum. If both sets of sound drivers are loaded then the 1st
behaviour happens. If only the Audigy drivers are loaded then the second
happens. I suspect it will happen with any 2 sound cards.
Also, and this may be a quirk of my system, kmix seems to have trouble
with the Audigy at least in Alsa mode it crashes frequently. My laptop
has Ali5451 chip and kmix does not crash. I'm running a 2.6.1 kernel on
both systems with the included sound drivers compiled for alsa with oss
emulation.
John
