This is rather difficult with RedHat. A good start would be to add the KDE 
version in your home directory to your PATH.

This means that the sycoca database was generated by kbuildsycoca from 
kde3.0.5 instead of kde3.1.4, when you manage to solve the first problem this 
problem will solve itself. In the meantime you can explicitly run 
kbuildsycoca from kde3.1.4 manually.
