Sorry, I don't have gnuplot ;-)

But $WINDOWID is set correctly. xwininfo -id $WINDOWID displays the correct 
information. However, if you detach the session from Konsole, $WINDOWID will 
still point to the original window, not to the detached session.

Still, what I found is this:
$ env | grep -i konsole
KONSOLE_DCOP=DCOPRef(konsole-3241,konsole)
KONSOLE_DCOP_SESSION=DCOPRef(konsole-3241,session-3)

So you can do:
$ dcop konsole-3241 konsole activateSession session-3

Other problems:
- using the mainwindow interface, I couldn't get the window to get focus on 
its on; focus() always returns false. Some X trickery would be required for 
this.
- doesn't work for detached sessions either

Maybe a set of methods in the session interface would help -- getWinID (like 
in the mainwindow interface) and something to activate that session, 
regardless of "detachness" state.
