well there's been prior art for things that work exactly like 
kwallet - Apple's 'keychains', introduced about 10 years ago, 
are really the same idea and implementation (thought - how do I 
config kwallet to do what the Apple ones did where I could have 
the system automatically use my login password to open the 
wallet?)

I don't believe this is a problem for KDE.
