Hi,

there is also a third (and maybe a fourth) KDE mplayer wrapper app.
I wrote one (you can get a development snapshot at
http://www.neundorf.net?page=software-linux.html )
It is based on kumaplayer ( http://kmp.sourceforge.net )
My wrapper (which might be called mkplayer) mainly offers a different UI,
consisting of 4 tabs, one for playing files, one for playing disks, one for
playing remote urls (internet radio stations and stuff), the playback happens
in an own toplevel window.

Additionally it features a KMPlayerWidget, which can be used like a normal
widget and has functions like playFile(), pause(), stop() and so on.
It also features a KPart, which can play remote files via kioslaves without
downloading them before (which I demoed successfully at LinuxTag).

Since I don't have much time I don't progress very fast.
I'd like to work together with the other projects, basically I want to have an
easy-to-use GUI (ala kuickshow, with specialized interfaces for playing the
various media types), where you can simply click and don't have to enter
url's.

Bye
Alex
