i did: 
- change font to fixed sony -> serif font. restart, font remains serif 
- change font size from 15 to 14 -> serif font. restart, font remains serif 
- restart -> font is kind of fixed misc, no serifs 
 
it's kind of random behavior - but what i don't understand is the preview 
difference between font selection dialogs in konsole and kcontrol (which 
seems to work all the time).
