Probably because kicker is seeing duplicate entries. It knows about both your
KDE prefixes.

You must have some different, conflicting library versions lying around.
Without more specifics, I can't tell what's wrong. My general recommendation
is that, if you want to have two different KDE versions, install them in
different prefixes (neither one being /usr).
