You're calling close(), not ::close(). Remember: you're in C++.

Again, stop using KSocket. Use the more powerful, yet also more complex and 
more difficult KExtendedSocket.

The new Qt classes should be ready by KDE 3.2, but I don't think we'll allow 
its use outside kdelibs & kdebase.
