Yes, I figure it meantime, that giving write access to the /dev/sg* devices 
solves the problem. I never thought about it, as I just wanted to read from 
the device. The audiocd kioslave help also doesn't mention the write access. 
I think I will add it to the docs.

No, I'm not talking about KGet. It's another application, and its icon is a 
simple one, the "empty" icon (see the icon at the mimetypes group in an icon 
chooser dialog). But I haven't remembered the name of the app.
