Nope.  I just installed 4.1 from Sleepy Cat source and:

[root@localhost lib]# pwd
/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/lib
[root@localhost lib]# ls
libdb-4.1.a   libdb-4.so  libdb_cxx-4.1.a   libdb_cxx-4.so
libdb-4.1.la  libdb.a     libdb_cxx-4.1.la  libdb_cxx.a
libdb-4.1.so  libdb.so    libdb_cxx-4.1.so  libdb_cxx.so

So this is a configuration issue.
