IIRC, applications don't look in the same directory as the application's 
binary for its ui.rc file.  It looks in both ~/.kde/share/apps/myapp and (if 
you installed kde in /opt for instance) /opt/kde/share/apps/myapp.  There 
could also be other places I'm not aware of.
