Ignoring the obvious question of why you'd bother, why don't you try? Load up
kppp, enter the telephone number, username and password.
I did a very quick search (shown below) and it seems you can connect using
Debian by using the penggy program. I expect penggy works in any other
distro even if they don't include it as standard. No doubt google could tell
you more.
