If I remember correctly former software reviews, ZoneAlarm is not among the 
best of its kind; simple but not so powerful. I'm using the Kerio Firewall 
(used to be Tiny Personal Firewall) right now, which is a very good piece of 
software IMHO. The learning mode makes it very easy to use. One wouldn't 
believe how many programs try to phone home. While there shouldn't be much 
talkative software around for Linux & Co. today, things might well change in 
the future. And not every interesting program is available as source code.
