this seems to be kinda nice.  Could we incorporate this in some way to 
Konqueror or throughout the desktop as a property page for each file?  I 
find this looks like a winner, and comments are also stored in the $HOME 
directory, so backing up personal files would see that the comments are 
also backed up.  

perhaps it'll need a little coordination with the original author.
