Hello,

Currently I'm attempting to use cvs head to test certain applications. The way
I do it is I source a script that changes QTDIR, KDEDIRS, and all other
relevant environment variables. I'm then able to compile and run applications
from CVS head.

I have one problem though, when running the newly compiled applications often
get errors about missing mime types. Someone on IRC told me that I could get
around that by running kbuildsycoca (inside the modified environment). I did
and that indeed gets rid of the "missing mime typs" warnings, but, then it
messes up a few things on my KDE desktop, most notably the Kmenu and SuSE
Menu in the panel.

Running kbuildsycoca in a new terminal (one that doesn't have the modified
envs) does not restore the panel menus (primary desktop is 3.0.4 stable from
SuSE).

Is there any way to fix the missing mime type problem in the cvs environment
without messing up the main desktop? I'm only trying to run indivdual
applications like ksirv and kmail out of cvs, not a whole KDE desktop.

Thanks.
