You can use rsync. rsync can sync two directories real fast.. So you can do

sync local dirs to remote dir
compile on that remote machine
sync the kde install dir there to your machine.

I don't think this will help you much in compiling just a subdirectory, but if 
you are compiling entire KDE, then this will definitely help you.
