I'm not sure I understand what you mean with "extending URLs"... maybe you 
simply want to have them displayed as clickable links? That would be rather 
easy with a KTextBrowser or a KHTMLPart. You can't simply replace the 
eixsting bookmark view tho, as it is based on the KListView generally used in 
the sidebar. You would need to write a new sidebar plugin with an own widget 
(e.g. KTextBrowser).

Oups. Maybe it should simply disable completion when there is a username but 
not a password in the URL? See the KURLCompletion class for that.
