Your comment is a non-sequitur.  I didn't say that you needed to install it from source.  I 
meant that the fact that Qt would compile 'out of the box' with FCPackage installed from source 
means that you you do NOT need to edit the Qt make files or patch Qt.  You just need to make the 
necessary links so that Qt can find the stuff where it expects for it to be.

Just exactly what are: "the system dirs"?  Is: "/usr/X11R6/" one of them?
