Regarding portability, yes, it currently requires linux with /proc (I
believe kernels 2.2.x and 2.4.x are supported unless the /proc/stat
format has changed non-trivially over different values of x - i.e., it
works on the 2.2.x and 2.4.x machines I currently have access to).

And yes, I'd be perfectly happy to work on support for other OSs though
I'd probably need some help (like specs on how to read the raw data on
other OSs and someone to actually test it), since the only KDE machines
I have access to run linux. It shouldn't be a particularly difficult
thing; all the linux-specific stuff is sitting in the very small class
KCPUProc, and multi-OS support should (with the right specs) be quite
straightforward.

Though as it's already been mentioned, since I will need help from
others with specs and testing, the logistics of adding support for other
OSs will be made somewhat easier if the apps are already available through
CVS. That is, I'd argue that this not be the sole reason for blocking
entry to the CVS tree in its current state.
