fault. how about creating a backtrace of the crash and investigating a

i can only estimate how long the kdm architecture rewrite will take -
maybe two weeks.

btw, just try putting your lib initialization somewhere in the kdm
backend (maybe simply near the top of main() in dm.c). if it still
crashes, then kdelibs are not at fault for sure.
