I would say that is irrelevant. The key is to design your port so that the 
functionality you're getting from glib has KDE style facades. That way, the 
underlying use of glib can be swapped out without having to alter your 
application (just the "wrapper" classes). Also, be sure to check in with 
KDE's core libraries, as such facades may already exist.
