It has *an* appropriate and rather old version of libxml2 and libxslt.

kdesupport is in absolutely no way required to compile KDE, it's a convenience 
for people using CVS so you don't have to go find your distribution's copies 
of those libs.

The original problem, which I think Helio already is aware of, is that the 
current version of libxml2 has a bug, which has been reported and apparently 
fixed for the next version.
