It looks like something in the recent changes to konsole between beta1
and beta2 caused a regression on a number of platforms (HPUX, OSX, and
BSD) that seem kind of related.

On that topic, I asked in the bug but haven't heard anything yet; how do
I go about debugging konsole_grantpty?  It starts and exits too fast to
attach GDB to it, and I can't wrap it with a script because it's too
careful about how it gets called...
