One _public_ class per file doesn't mean that you couldn't put some 
non-public ones in there too...
Of cource the property dialog might get large, but e.g. have a look at 
somthing like kdelibs/kio/kio/kfilemetainfo.cpp/h , which are both >35kB 
and contain several classes. I would prefer to look in the property dialog 
if it contains a specific class instead of using grep each time, even if I 
had to scroll through the dialog.

BTW: I've just seen that there seems to be a possibility to select which 
information should be displayed (see second parameter of 
KFilePlugin::readInfo()). I've no idea how to change this, but it might be 
a possibility to select which information you want to see...
