how about integrating SapDB as official KDE Database ?

This are the Benefits:
1. GPL-Licenced by SAP, OpenSource See: http://www.sapdb.org
2. performant, fast Enterprise Ready, already used in it's "commercial 
past" as SAP/R3 Backbone. There are plenyty and tons of running 
installations out there. Mostly in big SAP/R3 sites or as WebDB backend.
3. Officially Suppoted by SAP via Maillinglist (good!) and Premium Support 
(very expensive, for Enterprise environments, whose heads need guarantees 
from BIG Companies)
4. All needed call interfaces are supported:
	- QT3 SQLDriver Plugin (works fine!) (see: http://sapdb.automatix.de)
	- eSQL/C
	- JDBC
	- unixODBC/iodbc
	- perl DBI/DBD ODBC and own SapDB module
	- Python
	- PHP

5. Full ANSI Standard SQL92 (SapDB was defineing this standard!)
6. SapDB was developed since 1977, called later Adabas D, nowadays Adabas 
D and SapDB are disvorced.
7. Full featured. Transaction Logs, Stored Procedures
8. Actively developed by 100 SAP emploees
9. really high avaiblity and 24-Production, no breakins during heavy loads
10. designed for 24h/365 Days operation 
11. Online Backup, Full and Incremental
12. Web Interface for Database Management (Backup, installing) and SQL 
Desk
13. additional tools for Windoze
