I am also thinking about extending KLineEdit to use a red background when the 
QValidator does not accept the text. (Setting the text color is a bad idea 
IMHO, think about b/w screens). 

A more advanced solution could be to show a comic balloon while an invalid 
field is focused. The comic balloon would tell the user what is wrong with 
the input and how to fix it.
