as has been mentioned elsewhere, why seperate fields vs one field with a 
QValidator attached? i've written such a thing for IPv4 addresses previously 
so i know it is very possible and it results in an elegant input widget. the 
delimeters can be automatically added/removed in response to what the user 
types, it allows for easy/obvious keyboard traversal (usually pressing the 
left key when at the begining of a text edit doesn't transfer you to the end 
of the previous one ;), etc...

you already need to do validation on each of the individual labels and for all 
the labels together, so it isn't like this is much simpler code-wise i'd 
imagine.

just curious as to what your decision process was =)
